Why Use an NFRC Member Contractor?
Clubley Roofing are proud to be a member of the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC) - the UK's largest roofing trade association representing over 60% of the roofing industry by value.
Insurance Warranties
The NFRC has arranged with a major insurance company to cover the roofing works of their contracting members. The contracting company guarantees its workmanship, the manufacturer guarantees the materials and the insurance company underwrites the guarantees.
Insurance Backed Guarantee (IBG)
Underwrites both the workmanship of the contracting company and the materials from the manufacturer or merchant company should either cease trading for specific reasons such as insolvency, death or retirement.
Vetting
All members are rigorously vetted before joining NFRC and every three years thereafter. A member must meet the following criteria:-
- A satisfactory trading record, including financial stability.
- Inspections of past contracts to verify quality craft skills and technical competence.
- Satisfactory public, employers' and third part insurance cover.
- Compliance with Health and Safety Legislation.
- Compliance with the NFRC Code of Practice, British and European Standards and Codes of Practice and the Trustmark scheme (for domestic contractors only).
Competent Roofer Scheme
The Government has approved the application by the NFRC to run and manage a Competent Person Scheme (CPS) for roofing work. This will allow roofers to 'self certify' for building regulations on refurbishment work in most roofing sectors.
Advantages of NFRC Contractors
By using an NFRC registered contractor, clients have the assurance of guaranteed protection and quality. NFRC actively ensures that members offer high standards of workmanship and sound business practice through a strict code of practice and independent vetting procedure, including site inspections.
